For those of us old enough to remember the booms and busts of the dotcom era, we’ve watched the IPOs  of recent months in the tech sector with a mix of delight and morbid curiosity.   But in amongst the ups and well, mostly downs of Facebook and Groupon, and companies like Eloqua who have arrived on NASDAQ a little more quietly, there’s another storm a-brewing.   From the UK perspective, we’re all excited by the development of innovation-friendly initiatives like TechCity and swept up by hoping that one Olympic legacy might be more access to funding for high-growth business.   But this excitement isn’t matched by the stats. The UK just doesn’t seem to be the place to IPO.  Even UK businesses think they should be heading to America, despite the fact that we have AIM from LSE, which has historically been the exchange of choice for high growth businesses from around the world, not just the UK. And Euronext from NYSE is now being dubbed as the Entrepreneurs’ Exchange.   So is this going to change the Tech IPO Scene? Can we expect to see New York buzz turning into European buzz in the next few months? We’d love you to tell us what you think – and if you even think that IPO is a viable route for most high growth business.   This survey will only take a couple of minutes – so join in!       Image: FreeDigitalPhotos.net
